Always in his board shorts, tennis shoes and soccer ball, Pietro Baltazar keeps a watchful eye on the world. Pietro possesses the spontaneity unique to those raised in Rio, and the confidence of a man who has already fulfilled his dreams. At only 20 years old, his life shuttles between casual days at the beach and the tough life of Vidigal favela, a place full of conflicts and social dilemmas.
Pietro Baltazar is now one of the biggest name in the current new generation of Brazilian male models. In less than a year, he has already worked with top brands in Brazil and overseas. Thanks to a little help from the Brazilian pop star Anitta, who had him on her popular video Vai Malandra, Pietro is now the coolest kid in town. Some even call him the “Justin Bieber of Vidigal”. Pietro achieved his dreams with attitude, confidence and self-assurance, like a pro soccer player full of the Brazilian ginga style.
Pietro believes in staying true to himself, and living life to the fullest. He is forever grateful to Vidigal, the place where he grew up and learnt the art of seeking tranquility amongst chaos and inequality, an experience only those who have lived in a favela knows.
Pietro’s idea of a perfect day involves stepping on warm sand, enjoying a cold and tasty açaí, playing soccer with his friends at Aterro do Flamengo park, and of course, watching the spectacular sunset from the roof slab of a community house.
